John Baldessari is a famous contemporary artist. He is sometimes referred to as the Father of Conceptual Art. He sometimes uses photography in his work, often images that he has found and changed in some way.
This video shows a little bit about him, his work and ideas.
Mr Nicholls showed us one particular image by the artist entitled 'Wrong'. We were asked to look carefully at the image and suggest why we thought it was given the title 'Wrong'.
I think the image is wrong because:
It's very simple, has no colour and is boring.
The camera is out of focus.
There is nothing interesting.
Some of the objects don't fit in the frame.
The man should be placed in somewhere else.
We were asked to make a list of the hidden 'rules' of photography and what might make a photograph wrong. We attempted to take as many pictures as we could that deliberately broke as many of these 'rules' as possible.
Here are my images:
Self Evaluation:
WWW:
It wasn't my best 'wrong' picture, but it still wrong. I personality like this picture. It's really dark (because of the sun light) and the only thing you can see is the sky.
EBI:
I really like this picture, but well, it's not wrong. I think I can develop this photo adding more brush (shaking, out of focus,....), take the picture when is dark or just focus on one leaf.
